How to Change Your Expiring Password
Note:
If your organization is configured to use Microsoft® Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), the password reset process is different than the process described below. Contact your administrator for instructions.
- When you sign in, if you see a message that your password is going to expire, you can select Yes, Change Password.
Note:
If your password expires in a few days, you can select No, Not Right Now to dismiss the message and be reminded again in the future. If your password expires on the following day, you must select Yes, Change Password.
The Change Password page appears.
- Type the password that you want to change in the Current Password box.
- Type a new password in the New Password box.
- Type the new password again in the Confirm New Password box.
- As you type, a green check mark appears next to the following criteria that your new password meets:
- The password cannot be the same as your username, first and/or last name.
- The password must be at least eight characters in length.
- The password must contain characters from three of the following four categories:
- English uppercase characters (A through Z)
- English lowercase characters (a through z)
- Numbers (0 through 9)
- Non-alphabetic characters (example: !, @, $, %)
Note:
- Do not start or end your password with a space. All starting and ending spaces are automatically removed.
- Do not use single dictionary words, common phrases, email address, mobile phone number or other personal information that can be easily obtained.
- Your new password cannot be the same as your old password.
- Select Change Password.
- When the password change confirmation message appears, select Go To Sign In.
The Sign in page appears.
- Sign in using your new password.
