Reset an Existing Password
If your organization is configured to use Microsoft® Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), the password reset process is different than the process described below. Contact your administrator for instructions.
Why Reset Your Password?
There are two reasons that, as an existing user, you might want to change your password:
- You may forget your password, or you may be concerned that your password has been compromised.
- The administrator may ask you to change your password.
Note:
You can only reset your password if the TeleTracking IQ® platform administrator has activated your user account.
What is a Security Code?
The TeleTracking IQ® platform uses your security code to verify your identity when you are resetting your password. A security code must contain at least four characters (letters or numbers). You can have spaces between the characters.
What is a Temporary Security Code?
If you forget your security code or have not created one before you try to change your password, you must call your administrator. The administrator creates a temporary security code for you to use one time to change your password. When you sign in with your new password, you are required to create your own security code because the temporary code is no longer valid.
How to Create Your Security Code
- When you sign in, a Create Your Security Code dialog box appears if you have not yet set up your security code or if you used a temporary security code to create a new password.
.
- In the New Security Code box, type a word or phrase using a minimum of four letters and/or numbers. Your code can have spaces between the letters and/or numbers.
- Type the code again in the Confirm Security Code box.
Note:
Select the Show typing box to see what you typed. Clear the box to mask your security code on the screen.
- Select Create Security Code.
How to Reset Your Password
- If you want to reset your password, on the Sign in page, select the Forgot password? link to display the Confirm Identity dialog box.
- Type your username in the Username field, and select Continue to display a message that prompts you to check your email account for further instructions.
Note:
If you have not yet created a security code, you receive a message to contact your administrator for assistance in resetting your password.
- When you receive the email from TeleTracking, select the link in the email.
Note:
The link in the email is valid for one use.
The Reset Password page appears.
- Type a new password in the New Password box.
- Type the new password again in the Confirm Password box.
- Type your security code in the Security Code box.
Note:
If you have received a temporary security code from your administrator, type it in the Security Code box. The temporary security code is valid for only one use. Once you sign in, you will be prompted to create your own security code.
- As you type your password, a green check mark appears next to the following criteria that your new password meets:
- The password cannot be the same as your username, first and/or last name.
- The password must be at least eight characters in length.
- The password must contain characters from three of the following four categories:
- English uppercase characters (A through Z)
- English lowercase characters (a through z)
- Numbers (0 through 9)
- Non-alphabetic characters (example: !, @, $, %)
Note:
- Do not start or end your password with a space. All starting and ending spaces are automatically removed.
- Do not use single dictionary words, common phrases, email address, mobile phone number or other personal information that can be easily obtained.
- Your new password cannot be the same as your old password.
- Select Change Password.
- When the password change confirmation message appears, select Go To Sign In.
The Sign in page appears.
- Sign in using your new password.
