How Is Information Synchronized in Integrated Mode?
When the TransferCenterIQ™ application (TC) is integrated with the Capacity Management Suite® solution (CMS), and you request a bed placement, the TransferCenterIQ™ application performs a search and may indicate that there is a match for the patient in the Capacity Management Suite® solution.
If you then select Use This Existing Request for one of the patient matches, information is updated every 60 seconds between the two applications in the following ways:
CMS Identifier
Upon the initial match, the Capacity Management Suite® solution values overwrite the following fields in the TransferCenterIQ™ application, even if these fields are blank in the Capacity Management Suite® solution. Thereafter, the most recent update from either application populates the field in both applications:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Middle Initial
- Suffix
- Date of Birth
- SSN
- Gender
- MRN
- Visit No.
- Patient Type
Locked by CMS
Upon initial match, the value from the Capacity Management Suite® solution populates the following field in the TransferCenterIQ™ application. Thereafter, only the Capacity Management Suite® solution can update this field:
- Destination Facility
Provided by CMS
The Capacity Management Suite® solution always provides the values for the following fields, and they cannot be edited by the TransferCenterIQ™ application:
- Placement Status
- Completed Time
- Assigned Bed
- Assigned Bed Status
- Assignment Time
Controlled by CMS
At the time of the initial match, the values for the fields listed below come from the TransferCenterIQ™ application unless the fields are blank. If a field is blank in the TransferCenterIQ™ application, but not blank in the Capacity Management Suite® solution, the Capacity Management Suite® solution supplies the field value. Thereafter, the most recent update from either application populates the field in both applications:
- Address
- City
- State
- Zip Code
- Target Unit
- Origin Unit
- Level of Care
- Isolation
- Procedure
- Bed Request Time
- Placement Activated
- Organism (via Patient Attribute)
Payor
Although the Capacity Management Suite® solution (CMS) solution does not display a Payor field, payor information can be stored in the Capacity Management Suite® solution bed placement information and transmitted to the TransferCenterIQ™ application (TCIQ) via an Admissions, Discharges, Transfers message. A maximum of three payors are permitted for each patient in the TransferCenterIQ™ application: primary, secondary, and tertiary payors.
When a patient bed request is submitted from the TransferCenterIQ™ application and linked to the patient record in the Capacity Management Suite® solution (via matching patient demographics) the following occurs:

If payors exist in CMS, they populate the TCIQ Payor fields.

If no payors exist in CMS, any payors that exist in TCIQ populate the TCIQ Payor fields.

If primary, secondary, and tertiary payors all exist in CMS, then any TCIQ payors are ignored and the CMS payors populate the TCIQ Payor fields.

If CMS has some but not all the primary, secondary, and tertiary payors, then TCIQ preserves the CMS payors while adding payors that CMS has not supplied until the primary, secondary, and tertiary payor fields are filled.
Note:
This merging of payors can rearrange them. For example, the primary payor from CMS may be moved to the tertiary payor field in TCIQ. Users should view the TCIQ Payors list in the patient details view following a bed request link and adjust the payor assignment if needed.
One Way TC->CMS
The TransferCenterIQ™ application values always populate the following fields in the Capacity Management Suite® solution, both on the initial match and for subsequent updates:

- Accepting Physician
Controlled by TC
At the time of the initial match, the value for the field listed below comes from the TransferCenterIQ™ application unless the field is blank. If this field is blank in the TransferCenterIQ™ application, but not blank in the Capacity Management Suite® solution, the Capacity Management Suite® solution supplies the field value. Thereafter, the field in the Capacity Management Suite® solution is updated by the most recent change in either application. However, the field in the TransferCenterIQ™ application is only updated from within the TransferCenterIQ™ application:
